Melody became involved with MCEA as a pivotal member of the bargaining team. Her thorough research and data analysis supported a successful bargaining contract between MCEA and the Marin County Office of Education in 2024.
Melody holds an MA in Special Education, as well as teaching credentials in Orientation & Mobility and Visual Impairments. Outside of teaching, she volunteers as an adaptive sea kayak guide. Prior to teaching, Melody worked in consulting and holds a BA in Political Economy from UC Berkeley. This is her sixth year working at the MCOE.
Stephanie has served as MCEA's Vice President since 2024. Prior to this role, she served as MCEA's Secretary. She is a valuable leader and a fervent advocate for our members.
Stephanie has been a special educator for 24 years and with MCOE for ten years. She is continually inspired by the professionals she works with. She still finds love, and joy not only in her work as an educator, but as a mentor and an active union member.
Naseem has served as MCEA's Treasurer since June 2024. She is detail oriented, dependable, and brings a hands-on approach to MCEA leadership.
Naseem owes her passion for special education to her mother, who worked as a para-educator. Naseem worked as a substitute para-educator while finishing her degree in French. After meeting a student’s Orientation & Mobility (O&M) specialist, she pursued a credential in O&M, as well as in Visual Impairments. This is Naseem’s 8th year teaching in Marin.
